Hi Tibi. You don't need that much sky to this composition. Plus, the upper part of the trees shown a bad lens flare anyway. The backlit scene and the reflection is the real subject in this image.

Cheers.

This is a beauiful composition. I like the  warm earth  colors and the sky reflected in the little pond.  I agree though with Bela, but I would have cropped only a bit  upper  clouds , to leave some more of the sky.

In any event it is nature in its grandure! very nice light and location, and well composed..

I agree, Tibi - how could you not take this shot!  Such beautiful reflections and lovely foreground colour.  Despite the light flare, I actually prefer the original image as, for me, the 4x6 proportion and distant hills add a sense of grandeur and space.

Bela,

Thanks for the suggestion, it is indeed a valid version. You are right about the flare, this is indeed one of the things you should be careful with when using wide lenses, and obviously here I was not careful enough.

Pnina and Margo,

Of course there is place to play with how much sky to include or not. After reading the critiques, probably I would opt for a crop that goes just a bit above the white "lamb" cloud so that it both leaves a bit more sky and gets rid of most of the nasty flare on the right side.

Ruud and Tina,

Thanks for the visit.
