Hi Latil-AHHH_My type of landscape, darkish, kind of mysterious, not knowing what is around the bend.Love the soft focus of the background,so much more effective than a sharp background in this instance.Am continually amazed at your rapid progress in landscape photography, it just seems a few weeks ago when your images left a lot to be desired. You are doing very well. Best Regards-Ross

The light is excellent, both in the mist and on the trees.  This is a photo where you might consider cropping a portion of the river bed, perhaps just below the mass of wood on the far right.  That would put even more attention on the light and the trees.  However, it would remove some of the context of this location; I think the question becomes how much of that context do you need and want.  Regardless, it's a very attractive photograph.

Hi Stephen,

To be completely honest, I don't really know yet how much I care about this river bed. The best way to find the answer is to crop and compare. So I'll try and come back with the result, just to compare. Thank you for the suggestion. Best regards

Hi Latil,

A beautiful picture with a lot of atmosphere. The mist is very important and you captured it very well.

best regards Per.

Latil,i had a look on both images you did and is true that second seems to looks better considering proportions, but I must say that even so in both photos my attention was caught from beginning by mist and those yellow trees, you have been there in right moment and did it.Is natural and make me feel be there. My compliments for this composition.

Latil, I also like the crop -- it reduces the amount of space that isn't really contributing to your composition.  Radu makes a good point:  it's the fog/mist and yellow in the trees that really grab the viewer's attention.  I think one could argue for an even more radical crop, perhaps just above the patch of vegetation in the gravel just to the left of center; that would remove nearly all of the "distractions," but it would also remove some of the context and identification of the stream bed which some viewers might miss.

Hi Radu,

Thank you for your kind comment, I feel touched by your feeling about this photo.

I understand your point of view about the crop, and I agree.

hi Stephen,

I also like the crop, because it gives width to the scene, which balances with the depth.

Instead of cutting again the bottom of the image, which would let the river bed nearly disappear, I'd like to do the same photo with a bigger part of sky, to preserve the equilibrium of the scene. I hope I will have the occasion.

Thank you very much again to you and Radu for your helpful and complementary comments.
