another in the Willie Nelson series, this from the same location off stage, but another perspective and with different lighting from the others.

Since there have been many constructive comments on other shots from

this series, I would appreciate any on this as well. Thanks

Excellent detail in this shot ( the guitar is as battered as Willie) Maybe a little to much room to the left or to tight a crop to the right but a great shot . Cheers Chris

Great detail and lighting. I like your DOF. Minor critique as I'm sure you know is about the both ends of the guitar being nipped off

Michael, I think your #2 picture in this series of Willie Nelson is the best of the bunch. This one is very clear and in focus. Did you stop down so that it is easier to get him in focus? I wished you'd decrease the DOF to such a point that the second guitarist is more blurry. Anyway, they are all great photos. You did a nice job.

Sandy, thanks for the comments. My experience with the 200/1.8 is that at 2.2 there is sufficient DOF to keep the subjects hands in focus as well as his face. However, I agree that a more blured background would be better.

Amazing that it's so incredibly sharp, especially considering that the available light was probably not very strong. I would have liked this photo more if Willie was a bit more to the left; now there's a lot of black space behind him. You could crop off a bit of the space on the left. Also it's a pity that the head and the bottom of the guitar are cut off.

Well, let me first start by saying any photo with Willie Nelson is a good one..LOL. He is so full of character and expression. You did a wonderful job on this series! Great stopping action and the angle is great. I too would like to see the rest of the guitar which would offset him to the left a little to give our eyes a place to rest, an otherwise tremendous concert photo of a legend!

Great work. The key to this image is the clarity, exposure and contrast. You made it look easy. Most photographers can't appreciate shooting a moving subject in low light that is changing every 3 to 5 seconds and capture an image at slow shutter speed without blurring and a microphone stick out of their head.

I think a tighter crop from the left would be better. I don't think clipping the bottom of the body of 'ol Trigger (Willie's nickname for the old battle scarred Martin)hurts the image. I usually would leave the head of the guitar in the shot but in this case it looks like you have creatively cropped out something more distracting. Welcome to concert photography! Even the perfect shot has some problem totally out of the photographer's control. Razor sharp images that are not painted red with tungsten light are the goal. You hit the home run by capturing the essence of Willie and Trigger. Keep up the good work.
