JamieK 1 Posted January 10, 2013 Alex the Magnifico never saw a Saguaro, but the other guy probably did. Looks like Rod Stewart to me, but I know it probably isn't. Couldn't spell "Saguaro" at first because I only remembered how to say it, seh-wharrrrrro! Forgot the G. Happy new year to you, Old Friend! best, jamie Link to comment
overdiep 0 Posted January 10, 2013 Pierre, I don't know the story behind this. In my view they say good-bye. I like it that you have the horizon just above the head and hand of the right man. Best regards, Marco Link to comment
poag 0 Posted January 10, 2013 Interesting. A conqueror may be Alexander or Julius Caesar with sword in hand, but the scenary is Mexico or maybe USA. The man looks like a proletarian worker. The History always repeat the eternal return. People work for a living but always they are people that prefers killing, or maybe swindle. The concept is an importan issue that affects all the humanity. Greetings. Ramon Link to comment
Pierre Dumas 285 Posted January 10, 2013 This picture obviously could provoke a lot of observations and questions! As a matter of fact this is a question picture, question about the simple, common filled with rage man against the powerful and mighty who decides for his present and future and even his life and death! That relation existed through the millenniums of the civilization and still does! This situation was devastating and maybe some times fruitful, too many died and suffered, for what, did it have to happen all the time and in the end what this little man, representing the individuals from the masses could do against it! The picture implies that he obviously couldn't surpass the power of the warrior and the conclusion would be that the masses couldn't neither do anything against the will of the leaders of the mighty armies of trained and well equipped soldiers willing to fight! Jack McRitchie 150 Posted January 11, 2013 I think Alexander looks more like Crazy Horse on the warpath and about to send a homesteader to the happy hunting grounds. Another excellent turn of imagination, Pierre. It's amazing how complex and stimulating a scenario you can cook up with just a few well placed elements. Link to comment

Pierre Dumas 285 Posted January 11, 2013 Evgeni, you must so far have learned about what happened in our parliament, this picture was first (the other version) meant to express the situation in a funny way - mount down for me (us) to mount up! Thanks for your visit! PDE Link to comment
donev1 718 Posted January 11, 2013 Yes, my friend, I have read about this. May be you are right – it is time to “mount down for me (us) to mount up!”. Cheer up! Link to comment

John Peri 1,032 Posted January 12, 2013 I am drawn between an analogy to Don Quixote or Napoleon, which is to say Salvador Dali or Jean-Louis David, but either way this is an effective image. The shadow play is particularly well done, bravo. Link to comment
Pierre Dumas 285 Posted January 12, 2013 Thank you Evgeni, Gail and John! Evgeni, I don't want the little guy(s) to mount, ha! Here's another version: PDE Link to comment

Pierre Dumas 285 Posted January 13, 2013 Joerg he's saying, dismount for me to mount! Why would he need some more fingers Evgeni? Even a small one! PDE Link to comment
tamaramar 0 Posted January 13, 2013 Hi, Pierre! Well expressed idea! This is the problem with us (people), that we finally support "one of us" who wants to mount and look what happens: Dictatorship in Belarus for 18 years, elected - you know other even more awful examples.... Anyways, your work makes us think and analize. Happy New Year (old style now! :) ) Stay healthy and cool. Hugs, Tamara Link to comment
