mirceaciuca 0 Posted December 22, 2012 I know that people are reading from left to right, but I am wonder if this portrait will be ok like this (original, because of the window) or to flip horizontal? Thank you. Link to comment
gap 0 Posted December 22, 2012 I think landscape suits this portrait very well. I love the daylight spilling in from the window - it has that necessary soft diffuse quality. The texture in the wall adds to the overall feel, and I like the way that the right (his) side of the man's face is just starting to recede into the shadows without losing any necessary detail. A really nice image. Link to comment
gregoryl 0 Posted December 22, 2012 Hello MirceaThe way we see the image the first time seems to me at least to influence what we think is the right way. Even though this isn't my image when I flip it, it just looks wrong because I saw it this way first. I like the framing and lighting. As for an image of the groom on his wedding day I can think of some captions along the lines of " Oh no what have I gotten myself into" ;) As for flipping it the other thing to consider with this image is that it might strike some as being off for some reason they can't put their finger on. His shirt will be buttoned the wrong way and since most people are right handed the belt tip is almost always pointing to the left. When you flip it they are reversed. Just my 2 cents worth.RegardsGreg Link to comment

AlainD 0 Posted December 23, 2012 It works fine as it is above. For me your image expresses fear or doubt about the future. Flipping it horizontally would express remorse. It would work too.Great light by the way!Best regards,Alain Link to comment
