ray.koushik 0 Posted December 18, 2012 very nice sight. but i find the fingers in the front being out of focus is a bit disturbing. so are the cropped thumb and almost cropped first finger of the right hand. how would a macro-like close up of the patterns look? do you mind if i suggest an alternative crop as this one? compliments. -koushik Link to comment

mike_palermiti 3 Posted December 18, 2012 Hi Sagnik,A unique image. I saw that you used the Canon 100mm F/2.8 macro, but I did not see any further technical data.I often shoot scenes like this at a working distance that allows me to crop what I want and then enlarge that area for the development of the details. I would use F/2.8 to F/4 to use the lens at its peak performance level for the design. This macro lens does a very good job besides close range work, too.Best Regards, Mike Link to comment

GailAnthonyHarmer 6 Posted December 22, 2012 I understand the comments re the out of focus parts, but that aside, fascinating capture. I am wondering if you can tell me, The design is raised, so is this actually done with henna? It almost reminds me of some type of needlework. Can you explain? I'd really love to hear,Kind regards, Gail Link to comment

sagnikroy 0 Posted December 22, 2012 Dear Gail, I have uploaded an image of application of mehendi for your clearer understanding. The henna paste is applied through a paper cone , so initially it forms a raised pattern. Once the paste dries, it is simply washed off but the colored imprint still stays for few days :) Link to comment
