markskelly 0 Posted July 21, 2003 A good shot. I'm thinking about the shapes of the logs relating to the shapes of the chimneys in the background. However, this one is an unfortunate victim of vast overexposure. You might try one like this perhaps 1 or so stops down to maintain detail. Link to comment
yahia_shawkat 0 Posted August 13, 2003 The message you're trying to convey is clear, but unfortunately the overexposure robs the shot of technique. I don't know if your Yashica is a manual but you should try and point it somewhere darker in the scene or try different backgrounds that have similar brightness/darkness to your subject. Also, you could try black and white for such images. Link to comment
Bilal Zaheer 0 Posted June 17, 2004 Roome i take it you're a student? which institute are you from? i studied at FAST Lahore. For such bright daylight conditions you should try using a Neutral Density filter if your camera doesnt let you stop down enough to make the correct exposure. You got lot of photographic oppertunities in Karachi, so keep shooting and keep posting! Link to comment
mspanakis 0 Posted July 16, 2004 Very nice. I think overexposure is what makes it so attractive. Link to comment
mspanakis 0 Posted July 16, 2004 I also think that in places like this, the light is very different from what western academics see. OK there are universal rules of art and photography but rules are there to be broken by artists. In poetry we may (and we must) say nonsense if we are to please the ear. In painting, the same. Why not in photography? Well done Roome Link to comment
