Supremely amateur photographer, but I thought this shot was pretty good.

At least for what I do.

I like this a lot.  Goes to show that you don't always have to have a strong technical presentation to have a strong portrait.  The 2/3 view of her face and the lighting have nice 3-D effect with the mask of the face well lighted blending into the shadow side of her face.  Good lighting on her hair.  Good catchlights in the eyes and her face balances nicely with the bright lights on the left.  This appears to be a party setting with mixed lighting so I am okay with the skin color.  The only improvement I would make is to clone over (remove) the light over her head since it is on the frame edge and is distracting.  Good job.  Use this image as a tempate on how to see portrait light in the future.
