Leaving a gallery late nite, I bumped into a couple of friends on the

stairs. Several discrete shots with my CP950 later, I was on my way

home.

Looking over the shot, I get a sense of voyeurism - the camera is

peeking in on their scene.

Anyone else feel it? Does this voyeuristic quality make it any more

interesting, or is it too easily percieved as lewd?

The blue channel is really noisy (as usual?) but the pixelation on

this shot doesn't bother me so much. Thoughts?

I'm also wondering if the window in the left foreground or the white

mask at the top takes away from the composition.

While I don't have the impression of a "hooker at work," I do feel a "voyeuristic emotion" coming from this shot.

The harsh lighting at the top of the frame is distracting to me, but it appears unavoidable. Overall, I like this image.

This is good, because it's not a 'perfect' photo, but a glimpse. It has the moment of 'maybe I shouldn't look, but I can't look away'. A more calculated look would seem invasive.

Hey, I have a 950 too. Did you shoot that available light or w/ flash? One of the neat things to do is set it down and twist the lens so it point up or down the right way. It's it's own semi-tripod.

It was shot with available light on a monopod. The light source is one of those big ol ugly mercury halide (i think) commercial floods, directly above and to the right of the subject.

Had it been earlier and I had more wits about me, I would have used a little fill flash. Instead I used PS curves to lighten the girl.

I wonder what the best white balance would have been for that exposure with the 950 (if fill flash were used). 'Incandencent', 'auto', or 'flash'. I'd guess probably not 'flash' - too blue to use with a fill flash.

I like the semi-tripod idea - I never thought of self supporting the unit by twisting the body. Would have worked great here, given the angle.

Thanks for the comments to date -

Charmingly voyeuristic - one does the best one can with light, when you see a shot like this.
