Denis,

I especially like the soft light that is illuminating the model's body and the soft shadows across her reflection.

My first impression was that of wonder at why her hair became black and white in the bottom part of its reflection, then I realized that it is not her hair at all but the reflection of a stuffed toy animal.  That seems like an unnecessary distraction.

Even more distracting is the pattern of her shoes.  It just screams out "look at me!" when they are not the central subject.  It would have been better to have her barefoot.

I must confess I'm struggling to see a stuffed toy animal in the reflection, but my comments are very similar to Jerry's.

I don't get details in this image, and therefore can't work out what story you are telling. I find myself distracted by the mystery object which appears in the subject's right hand. The reflection doesn't help as the object appears to have been photo-shopped out.

Having said all that, I do like the pose, the lighting and the model's expression. It's still a nice image!

It was interesting to read the comments of Jerry and Chris. I cannot see a stuffed animal either and I am not quite sure what he is referring to, but I do agree with the point about the lighting, undoubtedly the best for this particular story.

I tried to figure out why this particular photo attracted my attention. It is not the lighting nor the composition as such - both are good, but not out of the ordinary. I think it is the incongruity of the image as a whole. What has she got i her right hand? Why is she sitting so close in front of the mirror? Why does she have those shoes on? My eyes bounce around the image looking for answers and finding none. In some images that can be irritating - here it all seems to be on purpose and is somehow fun to look at.

Perhaps the words 'mirror, oh mirror on the wall, who is the most beautiful woman in the country'  could help the interpreters of this photograph to find, what she has in her hand. Greetings. hen Ry

Thanx a lot for these very constructive critics, my friends. In fact the young lady is using a makeup brush in her right hand while she's fixing her make up in the beginning of the shooting.

hi Denis,

that is such a logical answer - and yet, even now that I know why she is sitting there like that, it still does not look like it (to me) - and I still really enjoy the slightly mad composition! :-)
