A more intimate look at the Painted Hills area than most of my work

from here. It's hard to get scale from this image unless you have been

here. The distance is about 1/3 of a mile and the background hill

rises a 100+ feet.

Well done, the colors are very true and the texture nicely presented.  I have been at this place many times and spent many hours with my camera trying to get the perfect shot. I have a few images in my portfolio. I hope that you enjoyed the experience as much as I have.

You found a great composition.  The hill fanning out in the foreground and the series of gullies and ridges in the background are striking.

This is a place I know only from photographs -- it's on my list -- and this is one of the finest I've seen. You have a superb eye and the technical skill to capture what you see.

Thanks folks for the feedback. I really searched visually for a strong composition. Harry, I agree that it might need a slight bump in contrast. I was trying to balance it out without over doing it.
