I am drawn to this image, Santtu.  It evokes the music of Arvo Pärt for me.  Keep pushing the envelope, my friend!  Best regards, -h.

This was one of the most spiritual weather related experiences of my life.

I think this picture captures the feel rather well. Comments and critique

more then welcome.

Santtu,

I can well believe that if you had an experience that this might bring back the feeling of the moment for you.  Photos are ways of reliving an experience and sharing experiences of a visual nature with those who did not have such an experience.  I am one of the latter, but I am having trouble seeing anything but a medium gray space with a couple of dark smudges in it.  I can only presume that others, besides me, will feel the same.  Those of us who belong to the latter group need more visual stimulus than the image provides.

Although I did not experience this particular weather even, I have seen scenes like this often. It is not easy to capture this and retain a feeling, you have done that well for me.

I was surprised at how much started to come through once I had spent quite a bit of time focusing on the large version of the image. And I do think that someone else put it quite well - this really pushes the envelope of what photography can or cannot do, and I think it is great that there are people on this site who are exploring those avenues! Well done!!!

Thanks for your honest opinions! Yes this kind of photography is something that ticks me off in the good way. As always, I hope my pictures portrait to the viewers some stories, emotions and the feel of magic.

I'm generally in agreement with Jerry.  When you look at this photo, it will bring back all of the experiences you had during that time -- the sounds, the temperature, what you could see all around you, and everything else your senses brought to you.  I wasn't there, so this isn't able to trigger anything specific for me.  It does, however, remind me of a time I was hiking on a trail at Hurricane Ridge in Washington State in very heavy fog (not quite as thick as this, however).  But other than spark that memory, it's simply not able to embody or impart to me a sense of the emotional experience you had at this spot.  I believe this is a shrub and more distant tree in very heavy fog that you've photographed, and I'm unsure about even that, so there is little that I can receive from this photograph.  I'm very glad, however, that you have it; I have similar photographs that are for me only.
