Thanks Bill!

I'm really wanting to put it out there for critique & ratings but not sure what appropriate category to submit it to.

Any suggestions . . .

While on an outing the other day, and traveling some country back

roads in an area along part of the historic Santa Fe Trail near Atchison

Kansas I spotted a rock constructed Church perched atop a hill in the

distance as the Sun was setting.

Well, I had anticipated an image with the Church against a Sunset. But

the Sunset turned out to be a flop as the clouds thickened and the

sunlight dispersed.

On the property of the Church was this old cemetery that dated back to

1863 and the Church was built in 1865. Both the Church and Cemetery

are still used and well maintained today but offered a few shots.

Thanks for taking the time to view, comment/critique rate and, allowing

me the opportunity to share.

The peeling paint on the cross and the stark trees with the remnants of fall colours in the backdrop add a great deal to the rustic mood of the image. It certainly communicates an aura of peace.

Very well done!

Best Regards

I think this composition would speak to many on so many different levels. I find it to be very poignant, and if one really delves deep inside, it speaks to the heart if one listens, in light of 'Hope' for mankind, especially with the destruction and devastion on the Eastern Coast of the US. Where does one turn, when 'all else is gone'?

Really nice composition. I like how Jesus is in focus while the cross in the foreground is not. The trees make for a very nice background as well. Very well done Jim!
