This fishing boat was dumped by Hurricane Sandy on a bridge over the

Matawan Creek in New Jersey. When processing this I wanted to be able

to bring out the menace in the sky while still capturing the unusual

scene of devastation the storm left in its wake. Your thoughts and

input are appreciated.

Hi Joseph! I have seen in the TV news the devastation caused by Sandy in your country, I can imagine the feeling of those poor people who have experienced that terrible bad weather...wish you all good luck and courage to keep on living! Thanks for share this excellent photo. Best regards.

Hi Ben, Thanks very much for the input. It is something that I thought about when editing but didn't act on for the following reasons;

1) I wanted to show the boat in the context of the bridge. When editing I felt that the debris and people walking in the distance would add more to the image than a closer up view of the boat.

2) I wanted the sky to play a part in the image. This devastation was caused by a hurricane and the clouds represent that storm.

Now that being said I will have to recrop and take a look at this pulled in a little closer.

My question to you as a viewer would be; Are you interested in the boat itself, the entire scene or do you just feel that a little closer in will provide a more powerful image?
