Nostalgic image, maybe because it is taken with CANON AE-1, which was my first camera when I was 15.

The composition with green and red works very well.

Interesting use of apparent warm and cool greens that deepen the hue of the red. As always Pierre, expertly created. Regards. Bob

I would never 'see' a subject like this for a picture, but it totally works and further illustrates your creative talents.  It must be a new shoe.....no scuff marks!  ;-)

Just perfect! Simple, colourful, well composed. I love the texture of the bench and details on a shoe and a leaf. Warm regards, Pierre. Tamara

And for your support, I know you don't expect me to expose such things as this and wondered how will you accept it! This picture is so old that I am not sure for the camera used anymore! I once did pictures like that when there were not digital facilities!

My goodness Pierre! Such a lot of comments! Will you see mine?

I like the image. It's very creative and I like the color combination.

Nice composition and red-green complimentary color scheme, Pierre.  Also a subtle statement about man-made versus nature.  It does seem to me that the white twig (?) underneath the lower slot tends to upset the balance a bit.

My regards,

Jerry

Hey, just a thought! Why do we first see and amazed - and take a picture. Then we look at it and try to improve (by removing, adding, etc). Do we, really? To me that twig just makes it look natural. Luckily it is parallel to the shoe and doesn't spoil the picture. What would we do if there was no ps? Vaccuum underneath before ? Sorry, I am just thinking aloud... Best regards, Tamara

It is excellent.  However, I will try to know the point here.  I know you always have some meaning or idea in your work.  Best Regards,

Ha! I have a pair like this but they are red... You'd have to place them on a green deck you would to get the same effect. Nice work with the complementary colors Pierre!

Dear Pierre,

This image is so strikingly different from the others in your "Latest for Critique" folder, it is no surprise to read from you that it is an older picture. It does, however, have "staying power!" For me, the power of this image lies in the symbolism of the subjects, leaf, shoe, wooden deck (or boardwalk). Each would be evocative on its own, but together they reach the viewer in a wonderful way, probably meaning different things to all of us. Bravo!
