A simple mini orchid that grows in pebbles - doesn't like too much water.

I quite like the delicate frail appearance of this flower and the way you have managed to isolate it. Interesting effect of the background shades. It looks like you have used the erasor tool in photoshop to create this?  Suffice to say the translucent looking veils of varying shades seem to work very well.

The background is actually one texture that I changed the colour of, then stretched, then copied and flipped and skewed a bit to make it look "sort of" like an impression of a  modern veil/curtain kind of thing..just to take it away from a plain black or white

It's interesting that the background you created is almost as visually interesting — if not more so — than the actual flower subject. It works nicely together though.
