As a portrait of  the musician  ,I prefer this one as it is a very nice one    . and his music tool has enough details.Very well diagonally composed!

I second that opinion.  An excellent working portrait and you've captured great expression...  Mike

The ruddiness of his cheeks, nose, and eyes conveys effort.  Lively, but straining to maintain breath.

Another vote for this portrait.  I like the other one because I see more of the trumpet, but this is still my favorite.  Excellent work.

A side note:  Chappy had his motorcycle stolen last night with 2 trumpets strapped to it.....including this old but beautiful sounding instrument.  Hopefully they will turn up at a pawn shop somewhere. Just breaks my heart!  And BTW, the ruddy cheeks were from the COLD.....too cold to be playing outside, but during our lock out we all did it!  We're a determined bunch!
