at me. He reminded me of a railroad engineer sitting in the cab of a

train or caboose. In this case he is driving his skillet and water

bottle. Note the Arabian looking manican in the left window.

I don't think it does much for me. The window does act as a nice frame for the chap but the rest of the image is rather cluttered. I especially don't like the waste bin.

Hum.... I tend to find myself looking to see whats within the picture. What is the green shityed guy doing? What is the entrance to? What is behind the other door?

This is kind of catchy.

It's incredibly crisp and sharp (is this what a Leica lens does for you?) but under that, I'm not sure that it grabs me much. There's nothing wrong with working with a common motif (the 'frame within the frame') but when faced with such a compositional motif, I try to ask, 'why now and not then', 'why this particular window and this particular person'. Possibly you have an answer, but I can't quite figure it out myself.

Jonathan,

Yes, that is the penache of Leica and its glass. To me, I see a railroad engineer driving a skillet and bottle, but then that is just me.

Thanks,

Steve
