We musicians of the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra have been locked

out of our concert hall since Sept. 7. Embroiled in an unreasonable

labor dispute and not appreciated by the Board that purports to

support us, I have decided to pay tribute to my extraordinary friends

and colleagues through pictures. I respect the dignified way they

have conducted themselves. They've held their heads high, kept a

positive attitude, and continued to bring music to our city through

self-produced concerts. In addition, they play outside in front of

our concert hall, rain or shine, as a symbolic gesture that refuses to

'let the music die'.

Excellent portrait.  I see a personality as warm as the tones from her cello...  Good luck to the entire ISO... Mike

Thank you all for your observations.  She has such a sweet spirit, and the expression is typical for her.  She wasn't smiling because I was taking her picture, as you might imagine.  (I was standing some distance away).  But when I presented the picture to her, she thought the smile was from a little joke Beethoven played with the phrase in the music.
