Wouter Willemse 851 Posted October 17, 2012 I like this photo; on the one hand it seems a very simple and common scene, but the difference between the moving train and the (seemingly) complete lack of movement of the people works well. The posture of the 2 people in the first plane also seems completely disinterested somehow - as if they really don't care fot that train to come. And while from the photo I could not make up whether it's an arrival or departure (but the title gives that away) - this becomes irrelevant, somehow. The people seem unmoved by whatever is happening there. The picture does not have the bittersweet emotion of a departure, nor the hope/joy of an arrival. It just leaves a sense of disinterested carelessness, and renders a rather cynical emotion that way.Anyway, that's what I get from this photo, and I like it for that. Link to comment
