This was shot ultra wide angle very close in. This is something that I

enjoy doing and it offers a unique look to some of the portraits. For

this shot I also wanted to bring the warm sunlight that was streaming

through the trees on the chilly autumn morning and try to create a bit

of a contrast to the child with sweater and wooly hat. Your thoughts

are appreciated.

How can you not fall in love with this photo!  Good composition and good use of space, good impact and appealing subject with great, feel-good expression.  Good exposure.

A tender and emotive scene, with extraordinary light and great colour. The technique that you applied here works perfectly and, as a result, the protrait is fantastic.

"john Webster said: "How can you not fall in love with this photo! Good composition and good use of space, good impact and appealing subject with great, feel-good expression. Good exposure". And I totally agree. I have not looked at your other work recently but the success of these portrait shots  indicates to me that this MAY be you 'calling'.  Is there anything I would have done differently?

If the highlight information has not been lost, I would darken just a tad those yellow leaves at the bottom of the image.   If the highlight info is lost and you try to darken it, you will observe an ungainly result.  For a 2nd image, more to the right to avoid those buildings in the background.  Sometimes buildings like that give context and I am not sure if it applies in this case. In any event this is nit picking on a very good image and I do it as the thoughts flow through my tiny brain but for positive reasons.

Keep up the good work.

Beautiful moment captured Joseph, and with varying light throughout the scene. The warm fall colors around this young one make for a very good aesthetics. Well done.
