One thing that maybe is just an issue with the post and not the original is that this appears to be underexposed.  The snow looks gray...  Looks like a great place to be and at a great time.

I also think it's underexposed, and I don't find the composition to be very compelling (but that's very subjective).

I somewhat concur on the composition. In real life, the three diagonal lines were much more pronounced, and they were what I was using to direct my composition. However, either due to poor framing or poor focal length choice, I managed to compress out the bottom diagonal. I also concur on the exposure...although it does look better in B&W.
