alfbailey 4 Posted October 7, 2012 Thank you so much for your thoughts and positive feedback. I like that expression "pure happiness on the street" it kind of sums it all up nicely.Best Regards Alf JOE I wish I could take the credit for meticulous planning for the compositional lines etc, but the truth is I took a quick shot between passing shoppers in a busy city square. Unfortunately the tight space at the bottom was also a result of that. Like yourself, I thought this was insignificant in relation to the expression. I have got a wider shot albeit with a slightly different expression, and I will post that one too at a later date. But I'm keeping it for a competition for now. I couldn't ask for a nicer compliment than "if that was my child this shot would be hanging on the wall"Sincere Thanks & Best Regards Alf SARAH Sincere Thanks for your thoughts and positive feedback. I could "add canvas" and make a little more space at the bottom of the shot, a bit fiddly but it can be done. But I'm a bit wary these days of how much I should manipulate images, and I like people to see things as I saw them, if that makes any sense. Interesting news about getting help with printing from Fiona Alison I'd be interested to know what she recommended? I do love street photography, seeing other peoples images as well as being out there taking shots myself. But its difficult to fit everything in, working full time kind of limits my options, so for now its just a case of Landscape mostly, and a bit of street when I can : - )Cheers Sarah! Alf RADU Ahh yes, you are quite right and as they say "the best things in life are free"Sincere Thanks for your thoughts and comments! Best Regards Alf TIFFANYYes, you are quite right, there needs to be more space below her feet, but it was a quick fire shot, and as a landscape photographer I'm not used to things jumping about so much : - ) But It's very gratifying to read that you liked it, as I know you specialise in childrens photography.Sincere Thanks & Best Regards Alf TAMARA If her parents ever contacted me, they could have it for free! But I suppose thats unlikely. Now that would have made another great title too "Song Of Childhood" I'm glad you enjoyed this one Tamara.Warm Regards Alf RUUD Thank you so much for your thoughts and positive feedback Ruud, from a master of the street I take that as a great compliment!Best Regards Alf Link to comment

alfbailey 4 Posted October 8, 2012 I was very fortunate, the little girl expressed nothing but happiness the whole time she was there! Many Thanks & Best Regards Alf MARCO I agree she does have those blonde tresses that befit the classic fairy tale princess scenario. I'm very pleased you liked it.Thank You & Best Regards Alf DONNA This is a scene from my home city of Liverpool. It has to be the friendliest city in the world and when I get spare time from my landscape persuits, I love to spend a few hours here and do a bit of "people watching"On this occcasion I watched a steady procession of children and sometimes adults take time off from shopping and run through the fountains to howls of laughter from various onlookers. (the fountains are fairly unpredictable and vary in strength and intensity), so if you time it wrong, you get soaked, its so funny to watch. The children of course just didn't care! : - )I'm really pleased you liked this one Donna and thank you so much for your thoughts and positive feedback. Best Regards Alf Link to comment

Best Regards Alf TONY Though I love the countryside, sometimes I yearn to spend a day in the City, drinking coffee, watching life and taking photo's. This was the result of one of those yearnings. Many Thanks Alf WANGHAN I think she was encapsulated in her own little world, it seemed there was just her, the fountains and her imagination. alfbailey 4 Posted October 19, 2012 I hope you are keeping well!I have two main interests in photography, Landscape & Street, but Landscape invariabley takes precedence simply because I love being in the countryside. But occasionally I do venture into the the city and try to find some characters to photograph. And of course theres no better city to venture into than Liverpool ............not that I'm biased ot anything : - )Sincere Thanks for your comments Graham, they mean a lot to me.Best Regards Alf Link to comment

alfbailey 4 Posted October 23, 2012 I think this little girl deserved an Oscar for her performance, she had many adults mesmerised as she played amongst the fountains..............including me!Yeah I'd opt for the "young & carefree" thing too, as long as I had it in writing I didn't have to do school all over again : - )Many Thanks for your thoughts and comments Pamela, as always your feedback is invaluable! Warm Regards Alf RAJAT "A Diva" Yes I think you nailed it with that description Rajat, and her playful antics were indeed a joy to behold. I keep hoping that her parents will notice this and get in touch as I'd gladly send them a copy. Sincere Thanks & Best Regards Alf Link to comment
dbasinger 0 Posted December 9, 2012 Hi Alf, I too am smiling when looking at this shot. You commented earlier about not making many changes to your pictures and I appreciate that. There is something about natural that evokes emotions especially when the subject is human or animal. Thank you for sharing your wonderful talent. Take care, Deanna Link to comment
alfbailey 4 Posted December 9, 2012 Many Thanks for your interest and thoughtful comments. It was both interesting and amusing watching the children playing. The water was like a magnet to them and every passing parent would either have to succumb to watching thier kids get wet, or drag them away to do more "boring old shopping" .This little girl was absolutely mesmerised by the fountains, and spent a long time playing amongst them, lost in her own little world.Best Regards Alf Link to comment
