Wow William! All I can say is "how did you do it!!" I saw at least two shots from two different angles. Did it circle the airport several times? Thanks for posting. Really enjoyed your shots. Very high quality close ups of this historic event! Can't wait to see the shuttle in downtown LA.

Thanks guys! Phil: I was on the roof of a 10 story building that is in the middle of the flight path to the north and south runways. It made 3 passes, one to the north (this one) and 2 to the south before landing. Pierre: You're right! I like this one better, too. The sun was on the side facing me while the other image the shadow side is facing me. We almost weren't ready for this angle because we only knew it would land on the south runway. And Radu: The pride I felt was in the ability of mankind to be able to even imaging that they could get these machines to do what they've done!

Amazing piece of history and well taken.   A shame the government isn't pursuing space travel more aggressively.
