trishadunn 0 Posted July 12, 2003 Nice colors. I might of added some more light to the backdrop but otherwise I love the emotional aspect of the shoes, dancing and the dirt. Link to comment
angelika 0 Posted July 13, 2003 Excellent picture although I find it a bit disturbing... Link to comment
angelika 0 Posted July 13, 2003 What's disturbing? Well, saying that I didn't mean anything negative , just at first sight the legs appeared to be dead, covered in dirt and blood(?)as it seemed. But when I looked at it again I noticed that the dancer is actually sitting and not being dragged as I thought :-) I guess I didn't pay too much attention the first time I looked... (hope my explanation makes any sense) Link to comment
root 0 Posted July 14, 2003 I agree, but I see that as a strength as well. The pose of the dancer isn't clear, although we know her feet are not supporting here weight. The green seems a little bit much, but the message, for me, is very clearly about the pain and hard work of a dancer's life. Link to comment
koval 0 Posted July 14, 2003 I like that you picjed the fact - pain and hard work, that was the very close discription of the aim I was tring to get. Finally , I did not get to close to the destination point , I thought . But your pick is giving me hope I was not that far from it. Regards PK. Link to comment
1000wordsphotography 0 Posted July 14, 2003 To me it is a very dramatic photo, the dancer seems to be almost sitting on her pointed toes, the muscles are taut, it is as if she is near the point of exhaustion. The lighting is beautiful. a very compelling photo... Link to comment
hanna_cowpe 0 Posted July 15, 2003 Piotr, you have captured the theme beautifully. The texture and detail of the shoes are very good and give the impression of bandages to heal the pain. Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted July 15, 2003 Again, a photo full of emotion.. Maybe it requires some time to see what it really represents but I think that makes this piece of art a very special one. Good work! Link to comment

morgan 0 Posted July 15, 2003 Pitor, I think that your vision comes across quite clearly. The beauty of ballet is a facade, an illusion made possible by the hard work and sacrifices that the dancers make. This theme is well captured in paintings, yet never as poignently before (that I have seen) in photography. If you have to "work" at seeing the photograph a little, it only makes it more compelling, intriguing, artfull. Link to comment
erika_thorpe 0 Posted July 15, 2003 This image touches me so deeply because it speaks of the darkness that prevails in the Ballet world. Having studied Ballet for 10 years I became very acquainted to the negative psychology associated with it. The colors, textures and the mood of this are so powerful! Link to comment
koval 0 Posted July 16, 2003 I value you opionion very much. I guess you are the first who has so much personally to do with the subject. Regards PK. Link to comment
rpallagi 0 Posted August 19, 2003 This picture is almost like an oil painting. Colors and lighting are almost unreal. The subject is unusual, thats why people look closer when they first see it (like me) and this makes it great. Link to comment
markscholey 0 Posted February 6, 2004 A very good shot, congratulations on the TDP comp. I love the tonal ranges you get in your shots! Link to comment
