Bhagirathi

Some of my quietest moments were in the roaring sounds of the river Bhagirathi (main tributary of Ganges).This is the gorge of Gangotri. Not too far from where mother Ganga is appearing first.

A beautiful composition - it makes the land and the river look so mysterious, as if everything were flowing down towards enlightenment. Super!

A very well considered composition and timed to perfection to capture the partially diffused light as it sinks below the mountain ridge. Good foreground detail also and shutter speed that allows a sense of movement from the water.
