lisa_m._holley 0 Posted July 11, 2003 This is Taz moping after coming in from the rain. I had to dry him off and I made him stay on this towel. He was pouting, as if you can't tell. I couldn't resist taking his picture. Any thoughts or suggestions are welcomed. Thanks. Link to comment
stefan1 0 Posted July 11, 2003 The blue pupils are a little freaky. The towel dominates the impression because of its strong color as the dog is so light. Link to comment
michael_ward1 0 Posted July 11, 2003 This would have been an absolutely wonderful picture if it were not for the flash. It's very hard to take really good pictures with a built-in flash, or with any flash used so close. This could have been saved with a diffuser, even if the diffuser were only a piece of white paper placed in front of the flash. If the flash was an external flash on the camera's shoe, then Sto-Fen or Lumiquest are inexpensive ways to get professional results (though not as inexpensive as a sheet of paper, of course). jim schwaiger 0 Posted July 12, 2003 I like the detail here and the look in his eyes. The towel seems to match his mood. Link to comment
1000wordsphotography 0 Posted July 13, 2003 The color seems to overpower the subject. Tell me what you think of a black and white version... Link to comment
lisa_m._holley 0 Posted July 13, 2003 Regina, I never really thought about converting it to B&W, but it seems to work. I still prefer the color version, though. The only problem with Taz is that he is already blonde, and in the summer he gets so light from being outside. The funny thing about this shot is that the coloring is almost exact! LOL! Go figure. I wonder if I cropped some of the towel off the bottom if that would help it not be so overpowering? Any thoughts? Link to comment
fred_j._lord 0 Posted July 17, 2003 The blue is so strong that it needs little of it showing to make a statement. The new Canon camera makes neat pix. The flash does provide specular highlights (shine) everywhere but the effect is interesting. I would try the diffusion thing and see what you think. If you don't like it, don't tell anyone you tried it. We won't ask. Link to comment
