This is a picture of the top of an abandoned water intake in Lake Erie near Buffalo, NY. A flock of cormorants have taken over the structure and are using it as a nesting place.

I love the one bird sitting on top of the long pole by himself....reminds me of a lifegaurd watching over a crowded swimming pool...
