jim_j2 9 Posted August 23, 2012 Jim,I'll take your word for it! And I'm not being a smart alec. I wouldn't know how to recoginize the ISS compared to the other stars out there!I do remember as a youngster, observing Satelittes in the sky. Mostly recognized by their movement and brightness compared to the stars. I admire not only the lens capabilities, but your ability with it here too!Quite a feat I'd expect!Regards always,Jim j. sranga 2,141 Posted August 25, 2012 great shot, with interesting enough details.question! Any place where I can find out when these come close to Venus or Jupiter (optically), to get a shot of the juxtaposition? Link to comment
Stock-Photos 1 Posted August 25, 2012 James,It is often announced on evening news when the ISS will pass over the Boston area. I saw an announcement which gave the specific time. After about 2 dozen shots, tweeking manual focus each time this one was relatively sharp. The International Space Station appears as a very bright star, taking about 2-3 minutes to pass overhead. It often slowly disappears into earths shadow during a pass. There are Web sites which list locations and times when ISS can be seen. Link to comment
