AlainD 0 Posted August 22, 2012 Great work! You really captured a moment of Norway. By the way the amount of details is really amazing! I'm pretty sure my 17-40L wouldn't do better.Regards,Alain Link to comment

Eystein 1 Posted August 22, 2012 Thank you, Paul, Alain and Maurizio. Alain, I'm sure your 17-40 is slightly better, but my 17-85 does a good job in good weather, and for traveling and as an allround lens it is good enough for me. Maurizio, fun that you have really been there, and I immediately looked into your Norway folder. Interesting shots! Some of the from close to where I was born 100 years ago. Now I live in the southern part of Norway.Best regardsEystein Link to comment

Mark Keefer 4,764 Posted August 23, 2012 I think this would be better if you cropped out all the foreground, concentrate on the red buildings and boat, crop out the sky also. Link to comment
Eystein 1 Posted August 23, 2012 Thank you for looking. Interesting point of view, Mark, but I have tried it and I'm sorry to say that I don't agree. It is the whole environment, not just the buildings that is the motiv here, and the rocks in the foreground give depth to to the image. In my opinion the photo will be more ordinary with only the buildings and the boat.Best regardsEystein Link to comment

GailAnthonyHarmer 6 Posted August 31, 2012 My I have some catching up to do Eystein! This is a beautiful capture. It reminds me so much of the fishing villages in Eastern Canada. (if you removed the mountains!). Such a picturesque spot. Lovely colour, focus and detail. Love this capture! It really needs to be viewed large to appreciate! Link to comment
