lonebearimages 0 Posted August 31, 2012 I like what you've got here, Chantelle. Great late-light conditions, an interesting sky, and a wide and expansive viewpoint; and you've masterfully controlled the exposure for the highlights while preserving loads of detail in the FG. Having said all of this though, I think that the image maybe lacks a main point of interest--i.e., something that engages the viewer and pulls them in from fore to aft. I have always found it challenging, in the limited time one has when setting up in late-light conditions, to find interesting FG or MG features that can help lead the eye into the frame to the setting sun. One approach here might have been to emphasize more of the sky to the detriment of the relatively 'bland' FG rocks and grasses. I took a quick scroll through your beautiful collection of photographs, and I must say that you have a terrific eye for superb subjects and compositions. You really are a good photographer, Chantelle, and I urge you to stay with it and you'll go far. I really, really like the way you are portraying the wildlife and landscapes of South Africa. Cheers!
