billangel 9,671 Posted July 19, 2012 I like to do street shooting with a small point and shoot, rather than a "serious" DSLR, because the subjects of street portrature are less likely to notice and react to the presence of the photographer. The fellow here is looking AROUND me, not AT me, which I believe to be the more desirable situation. The only way for a photographer using a "serious" DSLR is to more further away from the subject and to shoot with a telephoto lens. Link to comment
sgust 1 Posted July 20, 2012 Another advantage for candids is that P&Ss don't have a mechanical shutter that makes a bunch of noise when operating. I found that taking candid pictures with my Panasonic FZ is far easier than with my Sony A55 due to it's complete silence. Link to comment
