overdiep 0 Posted July 14, 2012 People are living longer thanks to better food, excercise and health care. This development is cost increasing for the community. The man in front thinks about the financial problems this will cause in the future. I think that you, Pierre, also think about the impoverishment of the nature. It is also possible that the man in front only thinks: oh my god, is this my future? Again an impressive image. Best regards Link to comment

gregverena 342 Posted July 14, 2012 I see more the present than the future. For me it depicts the diversity of our society and the disconnection from each other. The plane where they are circulating on looks like a game board, reminding me of the game board of life where we move around! It must have been fun and time consuming to make this composition. GailAnthonyHarmer 6 Posted July 15, 2012 I know much thought goes into each and every one of your compositions Pierre. No doubt there is more involved here than I could ever imagine, I just know that you are a 'crusader' of the common man, and not always in agreement with the ones who wear the 'expensive suits'. Do they often think of those who truly need a 'safe' way out of the 'forest', with something to look forward to at the other side??? Well done Wizard! Link to comment

Donna Stavis 0 Posted July 21, 2012 There is a existential aspect here with the orangey base like a stage and a game board defining their space on Earth and bringing in all sorts of questions of chance vs. human determination. If the base is the world's surface, then the trees speak of terrible violence done to the environment. People not only to not look at one another; they seem oblivious to other's existence. The man in front, cut off at the waist, is different from from the others because of this reason (and his attire -- but his tie is dishevelled, and like the game board base has a pattern of perimeters and set paths like a no-exit maze) Who know what any of them are thinking, and who knows what is in his mind, but his position provides a bit of a bridge for us, the viewers, to latch on, and our imagination of what he thinks can be our first step into this world .
