thomas_m_duffy 0 Posted July 26, 2013 Having fun with my friend who used to help me with weddings. With the primary flash her right shoe got lost so I threw a hot second light in the direct front. Not sure if I like it yet. I did retain the shadow on her face though and it did balance out. She liked it Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted July 26, 2013 Interesting approach. Because of the flash, it almost appears as if she's a cutout placed on a background of your choosing. That gives is a certain contemporary feel that is not without its charm. Her expression and move into the camera is engaging and her legs form a sensual intertwinement without coming off as titillating or sexual. She has an intriguingly ambiguous almost-pout and yet seems assured in her pose. For me, the handbag peaking out from between her legs disrupts some of the flow of the shot and doesn't add anything to it, so I probably would have lost it, though I imagine it might not bother a lot of people. The background actually is quite active and, in some ways, competes with her for attention, but that seems fine with me as it provides a counterpoint and an interesting visual space for her to exist in. The background makes me feel there's more here than her or more to her than what's here. She's in the world and almost floating out of it. Link to comment
