where's the lemon (shot glass plus salt = tequila, so what happened to it?) Nice light, funny story.

Nicely seen and a very creative vision. The blur and the distorted reflections create a whole little inventive world in which the three main players (full beer glass, empty shot glass, and salt shaker) all exist. It's dynamic and suggestive of a whole little story. I like the angle and the perspective which offsets a strong diagonal against all the vertical (and wobbly) lines. It's amazing what you notice when you look . . . and more importantly, when you see.

thank you, gents! light from the front windows squeezed into this otherwise dark and stark east village nyc bar. the weird reflections on the bar caught my eye, and together with the starkness of the atmosphere, created a gothic feel. yea, someone drowning/melting with the drink and the salt (salt in urban language means upset or indignant as a result of humiliation or wrong-doing by another person.) i wanted a shot that screamed this emotion. dp

Good Morning Donna, A creative shot with impact regarding the title. That Guiness looks very refreshing and should help with the healing process, not to mention the shots. The blurry bg scenery helps with the impression of a boozy evening. I just read Freds post and he stated it better than I. Very well done.

Best,

Holger

Holger, the "impression of a boozy evening" is exactly the necessary effect for the story thru those lines and blurs... Ben.. Ruud... i thought the title was too on point to resist it, lol ";-} dp

But it's better than drinkin' alone...

and the mood of the image fits perfect!

I read all the above comments and I might say this whole idea and execution is so humane. It sort of makes you grounded and sad when thinking about it.

A simple story that invites such interesting comments----perhaps because it's theme is one most are familiar with. Nice work. ~~~~L

Very well seen and perfectly presented with an inspired title.  I can hear El's piano playing...  Mike

El and Mike... only a handful of folks in this dive, and a horrible jukebox, but absolutely, indeed "better than drinking alone", as you point out ;-} dp

Kristina and Linda... i too am fascinated by the many comments this image provoked... i agree with you that it must have struck a powerful common chord... so glad for your reactions ;-} dp

Great capture and the perfect title for it! I think we have all been there but some of us never forget. Very well done and emotive image. Thank you for sharing. :)
