winter world A man of the snow

This man (climber?) is coming out of a snow cave? The most chalanging (and gratifying) aspect of arctic photography is to capture the grains of snow. I don't know if it was a product of the scan, or if the differnt EV's (exposure values) of the scene, were hiding the texture of the snow....but without them it looks as if this man is crawling out of the negative (like a white blanket).
