Sat down still needing that second cup of coffee, and now I'm chuckling at victory of bird over man.  I love this composition.  The bird looks graceful -- what legs and we are treated to view of the foot in the clear water, the wave so gentle on the beach, and the shine on the inviting water, lulling the viewer, as the water returns to sea amidst foam.

Donna - such a poet. I'll shoot, you write (in addition to sketching, which you do so well). Do you cook, too?

Pat - thanks. When you're in Freeport, I'm sure you're treated to much of the same delightful scenery.

Cheers ~

Hard to choose this is a gem!  the  timing is prerfect, the nearly monocromatic area with the colored spot of its "dinner' is just amazing!Very delicate all together, framed nicely with  the two rocks.

Thanks for your comments. I like this one too, for all the reasons you so nicely state.

I see this heron often. His leg is banded. Someone is tracking his location (there are several bird rescue organizations in the area).

I don't often see a heron with a fish that's already been filleted in its mouth. Hope he doesn't get spoiled :)
