bgelfand 1,260 Posted July 1, 2003 I think there is a green caste to the entire image. Otherwise it is a sharp image of a young girl who would be quite pretty were it not for her melancholy expression. Link to comment
joe_garrick 0 Posted July 1, 2003 I assume the melancholy expression was intentional, but I agree about the green cast. Additionally, the posture seems overly slumped but I suppose that goes with the expression. The near arm being cut off at the wrist is bothersome. The lighting is good. The expression is good if melancholy was the intent. Link to comment
bruce_jones3 0 Posted July 4, 2003 I like what you started with here. The young girl is quite lovely and her complexion has that amazing creamy smoothness of the young. But, as others have pointed out, the overall image has a definate green cast that is unacceptable. But, that is easy to fix. I am posting a corrected version I cleaned up for color saturation, contrast and color balance. But the photo itself is a fair composition and well lit. I happen to like her expression but I'd read it more as inquisitive due to the appearance of raised eyebrows. It's a treasure for her to keep I'm sure. I think it would be stronger if it were cropped much closer to the subject as I did with the color corrected version here. Thanks for sharing! Link to comment
joe_garrick 0 Posted July 6, 2003 I think Bruce's color correction and crop have helped considerably. Link to comment
davidmalcolmson 0 Posted July 8, 2003 This young lady has an interesting face, and I wonder whether you should have concentrated on that - in other words a head shot. She appers a little self-conscious and apprehensive. The image has an over-all green colour cast which doesn't flatter the model. How does the photo look in black and white?
