Regrettably, I haven't been spending much time on PN of late, so I offer my belated thanks each of you who have been so kind to have taken time to offer your kind comments.

Regards,

John

Just wonderful geometry and symmetry! Well seen and captured. I think the shadow is natural and fine but I'm not sure the image needs it to be anchored. This is really a tiny and picky point, but... I wonder what it'd look like if the shadow were adjusted out, though I'm not at all sure it'd be worth the time and effort, and it might be hard to do without having it look "photoshopped."

Too many words to simply say I like this image a lot and I think it's stunning.

Best,

David

David, Well that's a really nice compliment and I appreciate it so much! Concerning the shadow...I don't think you're being picky at all. I don't claim to have great skills, but I am generally very meticulous, to the point of being very picky... myself.  I say, generally meticulous because as best I can recall, at the time I was editing this set of photos, I had an issue with the shadow...but just didn't have the time to deal with it.  I'd promise that I would go back and work on it, but at present...I've even busier than the first time around! ;) I hope to be able to visit your portfolio in the next couple of days.  I'd like to see your work.

Regards,

John

Jeff, I almost missed your comment.  O.k...I'm going to show my ignorance. I'm not familiar with the term "figure-ground". Care to enlighten me? Thanks!  John

I disappeared into the ether for a while.  Figure-ground are those drawings that seem to reverse themselves depending on where you look.  The classic is the vase versus the two faces.  I'm sure wikipedia has a review of some sort.
