h._p. 2 Posted June 29, 2003 A good try but this type of shot has been done so often and so well that you've got a very hard act to follow. You've nearly got the depth of field under control but not quite so that the tail is out of focus. The lighting is nice although the shadow on the birds lower body is a bit disconcerting. To me it's not quite there. Link to comment
kaphn8d 0 Posted June 29, 2003 in contrast, I feel like the completely out of field background simply provides a good visual palatte and the lower part of the birds body being slightly out of focus leads your eyes to the head... which in my opinion seems to be the intended focal point of the shot... from a technical accuracy standpoint, the previous commenter provided some fabulous insight, but for me, the art of photography is more than just technical perfection... this is a excellent shot and one you should be proud of... thank you for sharing it... manoj_menon1 0 Posted July 1, 2003 There is bound to be similar photos out there but that does not make this one less impressive. The focus on the eyes works for me too. Simple and great picture. Link to comment
markw 0 Posted July 7, 2003 Having unsuccessfully tried to do the same, I know its not easy. Great capture, the shallow DOF really shows off the subject well. Link to comment
