Nice cropping and subject placement. The two compositional aspects to consider. The second flower is missing a petal (I know this is nit picky but the gap detracts from a sense of completeness and the foreground flower confirms to reason). This is where skilled use of image editing SW can help. Second, the foreground flower is positioned in a way that the center, the part that makes the flower personal, is obscured. This is a tough one to deal with as you often have little control over this. Try different angles to capture the flower in a way that it can connect with the viewer.

I'd agree to Stephan - well observed details (and food for thought reflecting my own photos...).

However, I think the photo is still very good - because the photo has at least two convincing strengths: first, the use of colours; violet-blue vs. yellow-green is a subtle contrast that suits the subject. Having had a short glimpse into your portfolio proves that you have 'sharp eye' for colours. Second, the composition: lines of stems are a pleasant variation of each other and guide my eyes towards the blossoms, which have this backdrop of bright bokeh areas - almost like backlit on a stage. And, their upward movement is accompanied by the blurred blossoms in the background - like a choir supporting a duet.

cheers, Wolfgang
