What a lovely scene Harsha. I'm glad you posted a large version of this image. The texture and lighting on the fields of tea is very nice.

Thanks Tarek and Maran for your visit and appreciation.

Thank Tony, a 7 is a very liberal rating from you. I am sure this scored much lower when compared to your landscapes.

Harsha.

Harsha - I Don't give out many sevens and this is a sincere one. I do not believe that a landscape has to be flashy and full of color to be a good landscape. Firstly i viewed this large and studied it and enjoyed it for a few minutes.  I examined it carefully and some of things I liked about was that natural appearance. There was enough cloud cover to give a delightful variance in the greens. Sometimes I try to get a wide tonal/color  brightness range - colors that look quite dark without losing detail to areas that look very light in color. And then you had the river cutting and leading me through the image.

It was also an image where i concluded that i could not see where any changes should be made. I wish i was there to enjoy this scene.

Many moons ago I was in Kenya and took a couple of color slides of a tea plantation and this reminded me of the lovely greens I saw there. Take another trip and it reminded me of some beautifully green mountains in the Caribbean island where I was born before immigrating to Canada.

I have not checked your ratings on this but decided to be honest and go with a seven.  I suspect some may not agree with me and in the world of aesthetics, how can one accurately choose a number to asses how an image made you feel.

All the very best,
