For me, this self portrait was not pleasing...I am only a relative beginner, so take that with a grain of salt and perhaps my views on this self portrait are misplaced, but I try and offer whatever I can for others' photos, and hope/expect other PN members to the the very same for me to improve one another!

For me personally, I find that 2/3 of this portrait is taken up by the light source - the bright window - only the top right corner hs your face in it, and the light is falling on a small poriton of the face harshly.  And usually cropping off a bit of the top of the head is done for more dramatic closeups or perhaps to accomodate other elements within a photo...but Im not sure it was necessary here.  Or I suppose cropping of your left foot either?

The stance you have is a bit awkward too IMO and the way you are holding your glasses reminds me of when I used to wear glasses, my trying to take them off moments before photos awkwardly - what I mean then is that the way you are holding the glasses there distracts me I suppose from the subject...you.

Anyway, food for thought...hopefully these thougts will be viewed as constructive and not as evil or anything...take care.
