stp 6 Posted March 25, 2012 I think a greater depth of field would help this photograph. It appears that only the fence and a bit of the closest vegetation is in sharp focus, and my eyes want to see more of the scene that is sharp. By having the fence in focus, it is saying that the fence is among the most important elements in the frame, and I'm not sure that would be the case for most viewers. It would be a good exercise to compare three photos side by side: this photo with just the immediate foreground in sharp focus, a version with everything in sharp focus (if possible; it might require focus blending of 2+ exposures), and a version with the fence out of focus but everything else sharply defined.
