A very atmospheric image - - The dark tonality with the hint of a street lamp illuminating the cobblestones is quite dramatic.  I really like the convergence in the background.

This is not where most tourists go.  It is not ornate.  It is not out to snag the tourist traffic.  This is the Venice of ordinary people.  The mood is well captured.

The portrait setting, rather than landscape, gives this a nice tight feeling, like there is not much room on the street, crowded together, but empty.  The stark contrast between street and sky is good.  The haze below the light is a nice effect.

Overall, a nice work that gives an emotional response.
