I'm puzzled by the sun flares: too many, too uniform, too many pointing down, too short, etc.  But nice processing on the clouds.

I particularly find the fine rays of sunshine quite nice, thanks to your use of the 18mm at F/14.

Normally, I do not stop short focal length lens down because they do provide better detail development in an image at F/4 or F/5.6. The DOF is rarely an issue with short focal length lens, too. 

However, in this case, this capture provides a nice visual effect.

The difference between perceived clarity and real optical performance would become obvious upon an enlargement unless the lens was not very good.
