Phil, thanks for commenting on my Canon EOS photo of the week.  This is a great flight shot, Phil.  Good light, the eye is bright and clear, even the wing tips are sharp.   Well done.

A closeup of an osprey in flight (even better, catching a fish) is on my list of desired shots.  I'm going down to Florida (Ft. Myers and Naples) for 10 days this Thursday.  I hope to capture a couple of these amazing birds in flight.

Thanks again!

Dennis

Dennis,

Thanks so much for the comment!  The points you make are very helpful.  I hope you get some really great shots in Florida!  I see that a lot of the bird shots on this site are taken in that State.

With great appreciation

This is a great capture......... crisp and clear with a DoF that clearly isolates the subject. The larger view is stunning. Love the eye.

Well done..............

Hi Phil,

The sharpness here is due to a good lens used properly.

The Canon 400mm F/5.6 L at F/5.6 is as good as it gets for this lens.

It is nice to see good shots taken .

Best Regards,  Mike
