Does fruit look better WET?

f/4 for 1/30sec. with my 35-70 set @ 50mm. I used a 500W Halogen from each side and the flash on the camera. I leveled off my drafting table and taped some strips of 3/4in wood around the edges and draped the (100% cotton) black cloth over and pinned it up on the wall. Then I flooded the table with water (lots of towels at hand), smeared the fruit with Glycerin, and made a few arrangements. Voila! Notice that the reflection (polarized light) looks better than the real thing (no halogen light compensation filters or polarizers used).
