"Organised", is something I aspire to be, but the image may appear so. I do take time over composition and proportion and its very gratifying that this element of the image communicates itself  so well.

Cheers Jamie!

Maybe a touch surreal for some tastes, but sometimes I go with what I feel rather than what I see. Maybe to the deriment of the image too, but I'd say there was an equal amount of enthusiasm for the saturated colour as those against it. On reflection though, if I were to process it again, I'd compromise with a slightly more authentically coloured hue.

As for "something new" I'm very pleased at your interpretation that this one fits the bill. But take heart Joe, for me and I suspect a lot of other people, sunsets and sunrises continue to be the every day miracle that we sometimes manage to capture, usually because we dedicate our time to doing just that!  For me, every one is different and I never get tire of witnessing them, be it on a PC screen when someone else has managed to get a great shot, or first hand, in the field.

Thanks for looking in Joe, your feedback and encouragement is very much appreciated!

Best Regards

Alf

A lovely spot Alf! I think I would have been tempted to go with more blue than magenta, but that's really a personal taste I think. Love that little place on the lake. You'd never know from the shot that there was traffic anywhere nearby. You've really captured a look of cool tranquility in this one!

All the best,
Neil

Lovely perspective again, Alf. I quite like the colors here. At first glance, it reminded me a bit of a Swiss Alpine lake... Gr, M

'Wonderful moody spectacle!'

Wha'cha gon do?

It is very organised and restrained.  I think that helps balance the extreme colour.  best, j

Many thanks for your interest and thoughtful observations, very much appreciated!

Yeah I can see why you would choose blue, over magenta, it's a sound logical notion, but maybe one I've over used in the past. Also there was tinges of magenta in the original that I have accentuated. But I will put it to the test when I get time. I will process another one frm the RAW file and see how it looks with a more blue orientated finsih.

Cheers Neil!

MARJOLEIN

"Swiss Alpine" ........Yeah and I guess the wooden building would add to that impression. It is a lovely spot and the building is always occupied, I have ocaissionly glimpsed people stood on the balcony sipping coffee <sigh> what a life eh?

Cheers Marjolein!

Yeah I follow that logic, organised image, mad colour : - ) Now I really did laugh out loud at that one.......my reaction that is, not your comment!

Always great to get your views!

Guess all is said above so allow me to keep it short: you very effectively use the light as "design tool" by taking advantage of the different temperatures (colors) to enhance the overall mood and intent of the image. That's my impression. Fantastic - compliments!

Now thats an analogy that I like, "light as a design tool" I suppose it could be interpreted as natures own design tool, the only influence and control that can be attributed to the photographer of any image is the chosen time of day, or indeed night. Dawn and dusk invariably being the best times for me. Glad you like this one El and Sincere Thanks for your positive feedback.

You are quite right about my 'sunset'. It does seem a shame to miss out on that beautiful colour just because of the 'scenery' below. And it would be good practise for me.

I understand now what you mean re the 'vibrancy scale'. What a treat to see the 'occupants' enjoying this spectacular view. They are very fortunate to have such a 'location'.

Your comments made a lot of sense to me Alf, thankyou very much.

Warm regards, Gail

You never know, the "scenery below" that you describe might be transformed when bathed in warm colour and light, so it's got to be worth a shot or two.

I'm just glad I could offer a useful suggestion Gail

Many Thanks for your interest and kind words. Lake Ullswater is one of my favourite locations, and the dawn light was beautiful.
