Many Thanks for your interest and positive feedback, I guess the stark illuminated branches do allow a certain depth against the dark bakdrop.

You are so right, reflections are quite a popular subject, so it's difficult to re-invent a particular view point. For me it is not so much a mirror type reflection that does it for me, it is more the infinately complex variety of light and texture that the slight movement in the water produces. In this case there was probably a touch too much breeze I like the effect to be slightly more subtle, like an impressionist painting. I think you are right about the presence of the ripples though and the dynamics that the person creates within the image, both are positive elements I feel too.

My Sincere Thanks for your interest and observations Jamie.

You are very kind "perfect" or perhaps perfection is what I strive for, but I think I have a long way to go yet.

Many Thanks

Alf, Not having been on PN, for a couple of weeks ( & am still quite busy with the fam. over here), made me miss some of your latest works. Sorry to come to this (mass) party quite late...(Yes, what a scroll down indeed it was!) I can only echo the previous praise no doubt, as I didn't really get to read them all :-) Lovely light! (& exactly in the right spot -- especially the way it flows towards that triangular patch in the middle of the pic) Love the dark subdued color tones as a contrast to the light. The person adds additional depth & a bit of life to the overall quietness. Another lovely photo, Alf..!

I do hope the familly are all ok.

Many Thanks for stopping by and providing me with excellent feedback, much appreciated. I have to say this one wasn't planned it was an opportune moment type of shot that kind of compensated for the other shots I didn't get because of the wind.

Wow!!! an excellent image, Alf...brilliant light and colors...darkness on the background enhanced the presence of the lonely tree, though well illuminated and the human presence is very balanced with the rest of the elements...lovely reflections with its ripples add vigor to this image illuminated triangle on a darer rectangle is very well placed...and the tree dominates the whole scene...brilliant one...7...kudos

Sincere Thanks for your interest and encouraging feedback, much appreciated!

I was very fortunate to be in the right place at the right time for this one. The sun was just peeking over the mountain  positioned behind my left shoulder and illuminating the tree,

A very striking image Alf. The light and tree reflection, and the man walking. It's all very captivating. Just super!

Many Thanks for your interest and thoughtful feedback, much appreciated!

I was talking to a very knowledgeable man who was also taking photo's of the same tree with hs wife. He told me that light at the exact angle where it hit the tree was only available for a week or so every year (if the sun shines) He had timed it to perfection to be there on one of the days, I just happened along at the right time.

Hi Alf,

So many beautiful photos in your portfolio! I love the light on this one, as I know you did too! This is one of those moments that nature creates perfectly. Bravo to you for being there, preserving it and presenting it so beautifully!

Thank you so much for your interest and kind words.

Nature paints pictures that we can only hope to emulate, I got lucky with this one.
